FREE ADMISSION is an exercise of the heart. It’s about letting down our guard and pressing the eject button on our thoughts, without holding back, without judgement. The hardest part: letting go of judgement. This week I wanted to share with you an excerpt from my latest Free Admission (it is an excerpt because the full one is lengthy and I value your time!) and perhaps it will inspire you to do one for yourself. (HOW TO: pick your favourite song or a length of time and write without stopping until the song or length of time is up)

I believe in God. I am not offended if you don’t so I hope you won’t be offended that I do.

I am a Christian, a Buddhist, a Hindu, a Jew, a Muslim, a Taoist.

I believe that our world gets better each time we give our best to one another.

I believe that despite our best intentions, you and I stumble and fall regularly (atleast those of us who care to admit it). We are all in need of daily forgiveness.

I admit that on more than one occasion, I have watered down what I believe in exchange for perceived acceptance and approval. As a result, I lost my voice. I am now on the path of rediscovering it.

I believe that beauty and blessings exist all around us and often come in disguise. Some of us see it while others don’t. Sometimes we see it while at other times we don’t. The difference is a matter of perspective.

I believe that perfection does not connect you and I…our imperfection does.

I am a work in progress.

I believe that Love is the ultimate trump card and our highest operating system.

I believe that what we tolerate tells more about who we are than what we actually say.

Intimidation is just inspiration in disguise.

Each day is a gift that so many of us take for granted in anticipation of “tomorrow or next week”.

We often dance around the things that we need by talking about, pursuing, and obsessing about the things we want.

I believe that when it is all said and done (or unsaid and undone), it always comes down to and is about love. And love, it is not hard work, it’s HEART work.
