Hello beautiful people, Happy 2015! A new year often comes with the infamous new year’s resolutions. This year, I encourage both you and I to consider committing to a New Years EVOLUTION…evolving each day to being better than who we used to be. To kick-off this new week and new year, here is this week’s menu as well as three great resources to inspire you to healthy eating and self-love!
I first learned about Melissa D’Arabian (@MelissadArabian) while watching the Food Network (back when it actually showed cooking shows vs. competition shows). She had a show called Ten Dollar Dinners, which promised a delicious meal for 4 people for $10 or less! She just recently released her second book called Supermarket Healthy: Recipes & Know-How for Eating Well Without Spending a Lot. For many of us, Christmas and the Holidays can be an expensive time so starting the new year with some delicious and nutritious budget-friendly meals is a big plus. As you may have guessed by now, I am a big-time foodie. I love grocery shopping and I love cooking. My not-so secret passion is transforming regular eats into clean-eating treats and I often have to modify recipes to suit my tree nut, avocado, and shellfish allergies. On this culinary path, I began curating my recipe inspirations via pinterest and called this growing collection Everyday Gourmet in honour of my gourmet taste buds…everyday. Well lo and behold, I decided to google “everyday gourmet” and stumbled upon this gem. Lastly, this new year kick-off post would not be complete without giving a shout out to my dear friend and fellow LOLE ambassador Laura (@fivefocus) who is the beautiful soul behind one of my favourite go-to sites FIVE FOCUS WELLNESS. Not only is Laura a Certified Holistic Nutritionist but she is also an amazing (Registered) Yoga Instructor, Certified Reflexologist, and Indian Head Massage Practitioner. She also happens to be an amazing photographer in my humble opinion (her photos will get you salivating!).
